Cell Phones – Drop off in one of the EcoPhones recycling boxes at Kroger-Sweetwater, Ben & Jerrys in Sugar Land Town Square or Starbucks-Town Center.  KSLB is partnering with EcoPhones, a Texas based company, on this program.  EcoPhones will break down each phone, recycling as many components as possible – and they will responsibly dispose of the hazardous materials that each phone contains.

City of Sugar Land Blue Curbside Recycling Bins
Curbside Service accepts paper, newspapers, magazines, glossy paper, catalogues, junk mail, envelopes, Plastics (only # 1 and #2 plastics - look on bottom of container in the triangle for plastic #), metal cans, aluminum, bi-metal, and steel cans. Phone Books are accepted during the months of October and March. Please call 281-275-2450 if you need a bin and are a City of Sugar Land resident.

City of Sugar Land Drop-Off Recycling Facility
The City of Sugar Land’s drop-off recycling facility is located at 113 Gillingham Lane in Macco Park, at the intersection of Highway 90A and Gillingham.  The recycle center accepts CLEAR and BROWN glass, paper and flattened cardboard boxes.  (Please do not place trash in any of the recycling containers.)  This facility is open 24 hours/day and is well lighted.

Fort Bend County Recycling Center
1200 Blume Road, Take 59S towards Rosenberg, go past Highway 36, exit at Frontage Road, get in right hand lane, turn right on Bamore Rd (next to Coastal Butane), go to stop sign, turn left on Klauke Rd., go 3/10 miles, turn right at first street Blume Road, continue on Blume Rd., driveway is on the left past Animal Control.   • Materials accepted by the Fort Bend County Recycling Center:
    • B.O.P.A.(Batteries, Oil, Paint, & Antifreeze)
      Open Tues., Thurs., Fri from 8 am to 4 pm. Accepts all batteries, motor oil, latex paint, anti freeze, transmission oil, power steering fluid and cooking oil.  FEE for latex paint of $5.00 for every 5-gallon volume equivalent
    • Household Hazardous Waste
      Open Monday 9am to 6 pm, also open 1st Saturday of each month from 9am –2pm accepts flammables, gasoline, paint thinner, kerosene, solvents, oil based paints, caustics, acids and bases, pool chemicals, cleaners,reactives, fertilizers, oxidizers, Clorox, toxics poisons, pesticides, fungicides. FEE of $5.00 for every 5-gallon volume equivalent.
    • Electronics recycling
      $5.00 for computer set (monitor, keyboard, cpu), $5.00 printers, $5.00 for all other electronic items.
    • NOW AVAILABLE – “White Goods” recycling
      Appliances such as washers, dryers, etc. can now be accepted.  Fees may apply.
    • Other Recycleable Materials Accepted
      Open Mon., Tues, Fri. 8:30-4:30, Thurs. 8am -3 pm, Sat. 8 am-4 pm, Accepts #1, #2 plastics, all paper, phonebooks, clear and brown glass, tin cans, aluminum, bi-metals, tires. FEE for tires $1.00 for passenger tires, $5.00 for 18 wheerlers- no rims.

Missouri City Recycling Center

Drop off site center behind the Missouri City Town Hall and Library off of FM 2234. Texas Parkway at 1919 1&Mac218;2 Scanlin Rd., open 24 hours- self service, manned for questions or assistance Tues, Sat, Sun 9-3 and Thurs 11-3. 281-261-4290 will accept newspaper, phone books, magazines, junk mail, aluminum cans, bi-metal cans, all plastics #1-7, office paper.

Inkjet cartridges
Call KSLB for free postage paid mailing envelopes 281-313-5752 or take your cartridges to Office Depot where will give you a ream of white printer paper (made from recycled material) in exchange.

Eyeglasses, hearing aids
Lions Club collects and refurbishes, drop off at Post Office

NiCad Batteries
Take to the Ft. Bend County Recycling Center, see above.

Car Batteries, oil, oil filter
Most automotive repair shops will take, see also above Ft. Bend County B.O.P.A.

Tires
City of Sugar Land, 111 Gillingham Drive M-F 8am -5pm, or Ft Bend County, Thompson Hwy/762 in Richmond open M-F 7am-4pm, Ft. Bend Recycling Center (see above for times and location)

Christmas Trees
The City of Sugar Land schedules curbside pickup of trees on at least 3 days after the Christmas holidays.  Two drop-off locations are also set up each year.  On a scheduled, publicized date, the City of Sugar Land and KSLB work to prepare and grind the trees, creating free mulch for residents.

  • Tree Pickup dates for 2005 Christmas Tree Recycling.  Trees left curbside in the City of Sugar Land on these days will be recycled, trees left out on normal trash days will be taken to the landfill:
