H-E-B/KTB Green Bag Grant

Keep Sugar Land Beautiful was awarded two H-E-B/KTB Green Bag Grants in November. One grant was awarded to provide two KSLB Planet Earth Carts to local elementary schools. The second grant was awarded to establish recycling of PET plastic and aluminum cans at First Colony, Fort Settlement, and Sugar Land Middle Schools.

KSLB purchased eight 100% post consumer PET recycle containers and trash bags for each school. Students on each campus are responsible for collecting the recyclables and educating their peers and teachers. Republic Services generously agreed to collect the recyclables once a week from each school. Each campus now has a very successful program recycling an average of 15 thirty gallon bags per week!
