KSLB Wins Prestigious State Award

Keep Texas Beautiful recently awarded Keep Sugar Land Beautiful a 2010 Governor's Community Achievement Award. KSLB was one of only ten communities to receive this highly competitive annual award for outstanding achievement in environmental and community improvement. The grant provides $290,000 from the Texas Department of Transportation for a landscape project in the City of Sugar Land along a local state right-of-way.

KSLB Receives UPS Grant

Keep Sugar Land Beautiful recently won a $10,000 UPS Foundation Community Improvement Grant to provide six Planet Earth Carts to local schools. The Planet Earth Cart is an environmental education resource that includes books, games, DVD's, and hands on activities. The UPS grant was given to only 16 Keep America Beautiful affiliates across the nation. The award supports organizations with outstanding litter prevention, waste reduction, recycling, beautification and community greening programs.
